Leaving the canyon junction, the loop trail quickly climbs up the Syncline Valley canyon. This is the view back down. The trail encircles Upheaval Crater, but the perception is of descending one canyon and climbing another. Beyond this point (behind me) the trail gets quite steep and there are lots of obstacles.
