| The Syncline Loop Trail is in the northwest portion of the Island In The Sky District of Canyonlands National Park. It begins where the Upheaval Dome Trail begins. After just a moment on the trail, there is an intersection for the Syncline Loop Trail. You can turn left or right, to follow the loop trail which surrounds Upheaval Crater in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. I went left; clockwise.
