The second lake on the Missouri Lakes Trail at 11,500 feet is the largest. (You'll see it on the next page, from high above.) I saw eight people near the lakes. Considering I had counted 19 cars at the trailhead, I was surprised there weren't more hikers here. Perhaps they were around but just out of site. My goal this day was to climb over 12000 foot Missouri Pass and make a loop which required returning via Fancy Pass and Fancy Creek Trail. After having a bite to eat at the second lake, I proceeded, passing this third lake just forty feet above the second, and continued toward Missouri Pass.
