As the panorama begins to load you're looking roughly southeast toward Leadville, Colorado. Pan to the right to see Lonesome Lake below at about 11,600 feet. The panorama was captured at 11,800 feet on the pass between Mill Creek drainage and East Fork Homestake Creek valley. The pass is on the Continental Divide and the Pitkin/Lake County Line. Interestingly, or not, the Lonesome Lake Trail begins in Eagle County; crosses into Pitkin County and reaches Lake County here at the top of the ridge, all in about five miles.
