Bighorn Trail begins on Columbine Drive in East Vail, Colorado. It climbs to a tiny old log cabin in the Gore Range at 10,800 feet. To get to the trailhead, take exit 180 off I-70 and follow Bighorn Road east less than a mile to Columbine Drive and turn left. The road climbs steeply and goes through a one-lane tunnel. The trail is on the left where there are several designated parking spaces not far beyond the tunnel.
