This is the Grand Canyon as seen from Bright Angel Point on the North Rim. It is only a partial panorama of about 150° since the spot I was in didn't lend itself to a full 360° view. The North Rim of the canyon is 1000 feet higher than the South Rim due to regional uplift over millions of years. It is roughly ten miles as the crow flies from here to the South Rim; 215 miles by road. |
