Here's a view of Columbia River from Mount Mackenzie at Revelstoke Mountain Resort. Located in the Selkirk and Monashee mountain region of British Columbia, Revelstoke offers the longest lift-served vertical descent in North America 5620 feet (1713 meters). Your legs should be warmed up by the time you get to the bottom! Revelstoke has extensive plans to become a major all-season destination resort with 16,000 guest beds, 20 ski lifts on 100 runs, an 18-hole golf course and a multi-use trail system. The ski area already has three high-speed lifts and 3000 acres of lift-served terrain in addition to its snowcat and helicopter skiing. Unfortunately on this one-day visit, low-lying clouds and snow prevented us from seeing what Revelstoke is really like. I hope to return again someday soon.
