This photo was taken along the Syncline Loop in Canyonlands National Park. May is a great month for hiking in the Utah desert. Cactus and all kinds of wildflowers are in bloom. I saw only two other hikers on the trail and one of them referred to this section of the Syncline Valley as "oasisville." It's a good description as it's unusual to see this kind of lush green plant life among the sandstone rock formations in the desert. Please click here for more pictures from Canyonlands.
