Freezing and thawing makes rocks tumble off mountain peaks over millions of years leaving boulder fields like this one. In some cases glaciers have moved the boulders into what looks like rivers of rock breakdown. This panorama was shot a few hundred feet above the Bighorn Cabin in the drainage of Bighorn Creek in Eagles Nest Wilderness — the Gore Range.
