Gore Lake can be reached via Gore Creek Trail starting in East Vail, Colorado. The hike is relatively easy for the first three or four miles, climbing 1400 feet to an old grave site. From there it turns sharply upward and climbs another 1200 feet in about 1.5 miles to the lake.
