Like most of the peaks in the Gore Range, many of the lakes are unnamed. This one lies at about 10,600 feet along the upper Piney River on the trail to Upper Piney Lake. A mile and a half further out, Upper Piney is more scenic but this unnamed lake would make a fine hiking destination on its own.
