Pitkin Creek Trail begins in East Vail, Colorado at 8400 feet above sea level. It climbs 3000 feet over about four miles in three hours, more or less depending on how strong you are. The trail ends at Pitkin lake here at nearly 11,400 feet. I met the guys in the photo, Fred (if that's his real name) and Trevor at the lake. They journeyed here planning to attend a wedding when they were done. Whew.
