Looking southwest, I saw a motorboat on the Colorado River below. I don't know where it was coming from but suspect it would have to turn around in a couple of miles at Spanish Bottom, a wide spot at the head of Cataract Canyon where the rapids begin. From here south, the Colorado is a wild untamed river for just 18 miles until it dies at Lake Powell Reservoir.
