It took about an hour from the trail head to get to this point, one mile out and almost 1000 feet below, at the edge of Murphy Basin where the trail splits. The right fork takes you across Murphy Hogback. The left fork takes you down into the basin wash. Both trails end at the White Rim Road. I went right, as I had planned to hike across the hogback since I first saw it three years ago from Murphy Point. (Click here for the view from Murphy Point.
