Lathrop Trail is the only marked route which goes all the way to the Colorado River from the Island In The Sky mesa top. It is about 10 miles to the river, or about a 20 mile round trip. A mere two miles (about an hour) down the trail is this spot along the rim where you have a great view of the White Rim and Colorado River below.
