Along the northeast portion of Syncline Loop Trail, a half mile from The Breach, it's possible to scramble to the top of this sandstone ridge for a view of Trail Canyon. This view is not normally seen from the Syncline Trail. The view is dramatic from the ridge and there's a severe drop off. A few years ago I hiked in Trail Canyon down below on the Alcove Spring Trail, so I was curious to see how it looked from above. Spinning around you can see the Syncline Trail and the Upheaval Dome Syncline a short distance away among the juniper trees, opposite the view of the canyon.
