| This panorama was captured on the fourth of July, 1999. The tripod was set just a few hundred steps from Deluge Lake at 11,700 feet in the heart of the Eagles Nest Wilderness. The lake was still half frozen and hardly looked like a lake so I stepped back a bit in order to capture more of the tops of the surrounding peaks which range from 12,500 to 13,000 feet. This site, being in a road-less wilderness, requires a hike of about three hours to reach. It's one of the most beautiful spots I've ever seen and well worth the hike. |
