At 11,600 feet, hikers reach the ridge and get a view of Causeway Lake and the East Fork of Williams Fork Creek. It's a view of a roadless area that stretches for miles. It's tempting to follow the trail into the valley but our plan was to climb to the Devils Causeway ridge (behind me as I took this photo) a little more than 100 vertical feet above.
