The return to Sweetwater Lake was by a different route, down this valley on the Turret Creek Trail. I was beginning to wish I had started the day earlier because at 3 o'clock I found myself at 11,000 feet with a seven mile hike to get to my car before dark. But the scenery was getting better. Turret Peak, a very recognizable landmark, can be seen behind the tall dead tree on the right side of the photo.
