The Lake Charles Trail begins at the end of East Brush Creek Road, southeast of Eagle, Colorado. There is an alternative route to Lake Charles, the Iron Edge Trail which begins at the same place. The Iron Edge Trail climbs steeply past the Peter Estin Hut and Charles Peak before descending to Lake Charles.
