It takes roughly three hours to reach Charles Peak and another two to reach Lake Charles on the Iron Edge Trail. This is Lake Charles at 11,055 feet.

A note to hikers: This spot at the west end of Lake Charles is where you'll find the Iron Edge Trail to Charles Peak. The trail intersection on Lake Charles Trail is not marked and is hard to find. However, Iron Edge begins and is clearly defined on the southwest side of Lake Charles. It is not easy to see here at the end of the lake. There's a popular map I won't name which shows the trail intersection 100 feet below, and some distance from Lake Charles. That map is incorrect.
