This panorama was shot on a major dividing line. It's on the Continental Divide. It's the Lake County, Pitkin County Line. And, it's the border between the Mt. Massive and Hunter-Fryingpan Wilderness. The elevation is 12,850 feet on the ridge of Deer Mountain. We reached this point via the North Fork Lake Creek trail on the east side of Independence Pass near Twin Lakes, Colorado. On the other side of the pass you can see the Fryingpan Lakes in the upper Fryingpan River valley. The red arrows indicate where the other panoramas in the series were taken.
