Lake Mead provides water to the cities of Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Tucson, among others. Water from the lake irrigates 1.5 million acres of land and generates enough power for a half million homes. I wonder what will happen when the lake fills with sediment; but I won't be around then to find out.
