View from North Rim
The North Rim of the Grand Canyon is 1000 feet higher than the South Rim, a result of regional uplift over the past 70 million years or so. This photo was taken from Bright Angel Point on the North Rim in Grand Canyon National Park. Bright Angel Canyon is in the lower right portion of the photo. The Colorado River is several miles away beyond the peaks in the center; closer to the South Rim, seen in the distance, about 10 miles away.
