This photo of Mt. Lincoln was taken from a ridge at around 12,000 feet at the base of Northstar Mountain near Hoosier Pass. Snow won't collect very deep where there's no protection from the wind at this altitude. Even in January, after a few sunny days, much of the ground on the ridge is bare. It's a good place for a mid winter hike. |
