Here's a shot of the northeast ridge of La Plata Peak in central Colorado; known as Ellingwood Ridge. The ridge is named for Albert Ellingwood, the first climber to ascend across the rugged ridge to 14,336 foot La Plata (right of the photo) in 1921. The valley below is known as La Plata Basin.
