Today, I hiked a mile or two up the Gore Creek Trail in the Eagles Nest Wilderness near Vail. I put on my snowshoes since there's been a lot of fresh snow recently. Snowshoeing is not particularly difficult but it's not quite as easy as walking without them. Snowshoers over the past couple of days had already packed the trail so snowshoes weren't necessary. On the way back down, I removed them. Carrying the snowshoes made me wonder what I was doing with them in the first place. Click here to view a 360° panorama I shot near here.
