This is Pitkin Creek, as you approach Pitkin Lake at about 11,400 feet above sea level. The lake is just beyond the large rock in the center of the photo. The shot was taken July 15, as the wildflowers are in full bloom in the high country. What a colorful show I had on the way up the trail. It's a three hour hike (one way) from the nearest road to get to this place.
