There's an unofficial faintly-defined trail that fades away not far past the Bighorn Cabin. It's relatively easy to continue upward off-trail toward the headwaters of Bighorn Creek. Approaching timberline, there are fewer and fewer trees and the scenery in the area is fantastic. This panorama was shot from a vantage point at 11,400 feet overlooking much of the drainage of upper Bighorn Creek.
