Roughly halfway between East Vail and Silverthorne, Colorado, you reach Red Buffalo Pass from the west via Gore Creek Trail. From the east it's reached via South Willow Creek Trail. The panorama was taken on the pass at 11,800 feet. In mid September the grasses at this elevation turn reddish brown. Nearby notable landmarks are Red Peak, Buffalo Mountain and Deming Mountain.
