River Run from the chairlift
It was a low snow year at Sun Valley in 1992 when I visited. Not to worry; Sun Valley has one of the most extensive snowmaking systems in the world on Bald Mountain. Look closely at this photo of Upper River Run and you'll see yellow things strung up and down the slope. They would appear to be skiers but they are actually snow guns that can be operated by computer from the base of the mountain, insuring excellent skiing conditions when mother nature isn't cooperating.
