Sun Valley, the ski resort, consists of two ski mountains. Dollar Mountain was the site of the original resort and one of the first ski areas in the world. As skiing became more popular and skiers got better and needed new challenges, Bald Mountain was developed on the other side of the town of Ketchum, offering more advanced terrain and a much greater vertical drop.
