Harvard Glacier
This photo shows the western half of the face of Harvard Glacier. The face is about a mile and a half wide and 300 feet high (at least that's what we were told). As we moved closer to the face of the glacier — within 1500 feet — it was hard to believe that it's as high as a 20 story building. Perhaps my perception of scale was off, with so much water and the surrounding high mountains. This shot was taken around 8:00 a.m. Please click here to view a 290° panorama of Harvard Glacier from the deck of the small cruise ship, Spirit of Columbia.
