Syncline Loop Trail is in the northwest portion of the Island In The Sky District of Canyonlands National Park. It originates on the Upheaval Dome Trail. After just a moment on that trail, there is an intersection where Syncline Loop Trail goes both left and right, circling Upheaval Dome Crater in about eight miles. I went left, taking the clockwise route.
