Along Highway 82 on the west side of Independence Pass at about 11,500 feet is the Lost Man Loop Trail which takes you into the Hunter Fryingpan Wilderness. If you follow the loop for about seven miles you come back to Highway 82 about two miles further west and 900 feet lower. This is the view south toward 82 from about a mile up the trail.
